Meet the makers
David Mace-Kaff
Director and Cinematographer
The director and cinematographer at Creative Path Films (formerly Evolve Film Productions), David leverages years of professional experience in producing feature documentaries and online marketing content and has worked on and crewed for numerous feature films and television dramas.
He holds a Bachelor of Film and Television and for 8 years ran the Film and Television production course at the Warehouse Workshop Acting Studio alongside renowned casting director Tom McSweeney. He considers himself a stickler for quality and is driven by a constant passion to improve, grow and evolve which he brings into every project he takes on.
As a Cinematographer and Director, his strength lies in converting messages into powerful visuals. He likes to be personally involved in every production project he works on, creating simple, timeless and impactful videos with a brand’s story woven into every shot.
Lauren-ann Smith
Producer and Documentary Filmmaker
Lauren obtained her diploma in Film and Media at the International Film College and dove right into the world of video production as an independent documentary filmmaker. Her work took her to the distant coasts of Australia where she filmed her first feature documentary, telling the story of a family with an autistic son who risked it all in the name of their dream: sailing the east coast of the continent.
A chance encounter between Lauren and David resulted in their brainchild: the Gold Coast video production company, Creative Path Films (formerly Evolve Film Productions.) Over the past 8 years, Lauren has taken on a multitude of roles within the company: from producer to production manager, through to client liaison, scriptwriter, sound recordist and even caterer! Surrounded by a team of creative professionals and talented filmmakers, Lauren currently acts as a Producer and Operations Manager, overseeing multiple projects at any one time and making sure every clients’ vision is carefully brought to life.
Lauren brings in her meticulous attention to detail, unmatched organizational skills and creative passion to help her team stay grounded and on mission.
